Coal Electricity use is a renewable power plant designed to reduce fuel use in power plants, Coal as an energy source for electricity generation was first developed by Thomas Edison, and began operations in 1882 in New York City.
In the 60s the oil take over the role of coal as primary energy, especially with the rapidly growing transportation sector. In 2002 the role of coal supplied 23.5% of the world’s energy needs, of which 39% of the world’s electricity needs and about 64% of the steel industry use of coal as an energy source.
How is coal converted into electricity?
Steam coal or also known as thermal coal is a type of coal used as energy sources for power listrik.Mula first, the coal is reduced in size until the fines in order to increase the area permukaaannya to be more flammable. Today the use of coal as an energy source electricity generation is 39% of world electricity demand, although some countries may be higher. This needs to be prepared considering the volume of domestic coal needs to be transported / distribution reaches + 100 million tons per year in 2010 (national coal production plan for 2010 is 184 million tonnes per annum + + 80 million tonnes per year Low Rank Coal).
Although coal is very efficient in reducing the fuel crisis in electricity generation, coal in our country or even in the world also has a certain capacity, if we just wear them and do not cultivate or make coal fields in the long term may be practically coal-fired plants will be extinct.
